Privacy policy

What we keep

• Your email address, your first name, and your password stored as a one-way hash - we cannot read it.
• What you set for yourself: a test date, a daily goal.
• The year you were born, and the moment you told us - that is the age check, and it is why we never ask for the day or the month.
• Every question you answer: which one, what you chose, whether it was right, and how long you spent.
• What you bookmark, what lands in your review queue, and your conversations with the tutor.
• The time zone your browser reports, so that a study day starts at midnight where you actually are.
• Who you have invited: a parent, or a coach, and when you revoked them.

We do not ask for a phone number, an address, a school or a photograph, and there is nowhere in the app to give us one. We ask for a birth YEAR and never the full date - the year is all the age check needs, so the day is not ours to keep.

What never runs here

No third-party script, pixel or tag loads on any page of this site. No analytics service, no advertising pixel, no tag manager, no session recorder. Nobody else's code runs in your browser while you study, which means nobody else is watching you do it.

We do count things - how many people signed up, how many finished a diagnostic - but those counts are rows in our own database on our own server, written by us. We never sell your data, and there are no ads in this product.

Who can see your work

You, always. Beyond that, only the people you hand a key to:

• A parent or a coach sees your progress only after you give them an invite code, and only until you revoke them in settings - which takes effect at once, not overnight.
• A score report leaves your account only if you create a share link for it. Revoking that link kills it immediately, and a shared report carries your first name and no more.
• Nobody else. There is no directory, no leaderboard and no way for one student to find another.

The tutor

When you ask the tutor for a hint, our server sends the question, your message and the answer you picked to Anthropic's API, which writes the reply. Your name and your email are not part of that request. The conversation is stored with your account so you can read it again later.

Cookies

Two, and both are ours. One keeps you signed in. One records your time zone so your streak rolls over at your midnight rather than at somebody else's. There are no tracking cookies here, so there is no consent banner to dismiss.

Email we send

Only when you ask. Today that is one message: a link to set a new password, sent to the address on your account, and only after you ask for one - and only if whoever set this copy up gave it a way to send mail. Later there will be two more, both of them things you asked for: a receipt for a payment and a confirmation that you cancelled. That is the whole list. No newsletter, no reminders, no "we miss you". There is nothing to unsubscribe from.

Deleting your account

Both of these are in your settings, and neither of them needs us. “Download my data” gives you a JSON file of everything below. “Delete my account” closes it - we ask for your password first, because it cannot be undone. Deleting is honest about what it does, so here is exactly what happens.

Gone for good:

• Your email address, replaced with a marker that cannot be turned back into it.
• Your first name.
• Your password, rotated to something nobody holds.
• Your test date and the time zone your device told us.
• Every parent and coach link, revoked; every share link you made, dead.

Kept, and this is the part worth reading:

• The answers themselves - which question, what was chosen, whether it was right.
• How many questions you answered on each day you studied.
• Anything you typed that is not an answer: your side of a tutor conversation, messages between you and a coach, and any problem you reported with a question.
• The year you gave us at signup and the fact that you attested to it.

The answers stay because they are how we tell a fair question from a broken one, and removing them would quietly damage the app for everyone still using it. The typed messages stay because we cannot separate your half of a conversation from the other person's, and the year stays because it is the record that you were old enough to be here. None of it is reachable in the app once the account is closed, and all of it hangs off an account that no longer holds a name or a readable email - so what is left is de-identified: a record that a question was answered, not a record of who answered it. If you typed your own name into a message, that is the one thing we cannot find and remove for you; write to us and we will.

Age

Scoreberry is for students in the United States aged 13 and up. We do not knowingly keep an account for anyone younger; if one exists, write to us and we will remove it. If you are under 18, use this with a parent or guardian's permission.

Signing up asks for the year you were born. If it puts you under 13 we do not make the account at all, and if it puts you under 18 we ask you to confirm that a parent or guardian said yes first. What we keep from that is the year, whether you are under 18, and when you answered - nothing else, and we never ask you again.

If this policy changes

The date at the top changes with it. If we ever start collecting something that is not on the list above, this page says so before we do.
